Abstract 

 

 

The  theme  of  this  thesis  is  the  design  and  the  development  of  the  online 

information system iGasService. This is a dynamic website, created with open source 

software  and  it  will  be used by  technicians  of  tanks  with  natural  gas,  as  well  as  by 

technicians of tanks with other fuel, such as diesel, liquid gas, biomass (pellet), etc. 

Through this specialized platform, management and organization of all tanks 

and customers are facilitated.  Technicians may add, edit, or delete data of tanks and 

their  owners,  that  are  registered  in  the  database.  In  addition,  options  such  as 

appointment  schedule,  display  notifications,  search  and  import  data  in  PDF  format 

and  tracking  the  exact  location  of  each  tank  via  Google  Maps,  are  provided. 

Furthermore, it is possible to easily and quickly find  the tank which needs repair or 

maintenance and display its information, through the creation and printing of QR code 

labels that will be pasted on the tanks and scanned by Android devices, iOS devices, 

or any other scanning device. 

The  system  administrator  or  administrators  have  the  ability  to  assign 

appointments to any technician, to change the date and time of the appointments, 

display all scheduled appointments for all technicians, add technicians in the system, 

edit their data, or delete them, and generally perform any other action an ordinary 

technician can do.
