Minas Dasygenis (Electrical and Computer Engineer, 1999, Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Kozani, University of Western Macedonia, specializing in "Computer Systems Architecture" (mdasygenis@uowm.gr). His research focuses on the design of embedded systems, Internet of things, and accelerators in homogeneous or heterogeneous architectures. He has over 20 years of independent teaching experience in Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Parallel and Distributed Processing Systems. His research activities center on the design and optimization of embedded systems, specialized architectures, application acceleration through multi-core systems and FPGAs, robotic systems, machine learning, precision agriculture, smart city facilities and services, as well as the implementation and optimization of multimedia algorithms. He has published 5 books and over 146 scientific articles in journals and conferences, with more than 1000 citations according to Google Scholar. He also holds a patent for his innovation in the field of embedded systems and smartbins. As a principal researcher and scientific supervisor, he has successfully led three competitive research programs, supervised five completed doctoral theses, and served as an evaluator or committee member in dozens of conferences and journals in the field of embedded systems or research programs. He has supervised over 90 undergraduate and postgraduate theses, with a significant number of publications resulting from these works. Dr. Dasygenis has been recognized for his teaching abilities (receiving the OpenCourses award for Computer Systems Architecture) and his administrative skills, having been involved in multiple university committees, notably the Department's Internship Program and the Department's Internal Evaluation Group (positions he has held for over 6 years). He also has significant experience in the design, management, and security of networks and IT infrastructures (having a CISCO certification and in field experience), making substantial improvements and additions to the ECE department as member of the infrastructure committee.
