Abstract
Nowadays, the internet has become a part of our lives, as it is the main source of
information, entertainment and communication for the largest number of people. For this
reason, lately we see the transition of more and more systems into the cloud so that access to
the services can be done at any time with the use of the Internet.
According to the above-mentioned finding, the content of this dissertation also
emerged. Specifically, the purpose of the current dissertation is to inform and communicate
the members of basketball championships through a common online system. In addition, this
project aims to inform citizens about the results of games and scores of the championship.
This dissertation aims to design and implement an integrated basketball management
information system. Specifically, the information system consists of a website, designed to be
accessible from any device. In addition, the information system consists of an android
application, which has the same and more features than the website. The additional
functionalities provided through the android application are the transition to the place of the
match via GPS and the receipt of messages in the form of notification on the mobile device.
The information system consists of three different categories of users, visitors, authorized
users and administrators. Visitors in particular do not have an account so their capabilities are
limited to viewing on the ranking and current week's matches. Authorized users who have an
account and therefore can connect to the system, have the ability to communicate with each
other and to be informed about issues related to the management of the tournament. The
administrator who is responsible for inserting users, groups, stadiums, matches, and many
other information. The administrator is also responsible for the creation of the weekly match
schedule and modifying the ranking of the teams. Finally, the administrator has the ability to
export data from the system so that to process them and draw conclusions that are going to
help improve the management of the league.
Website Development Environment: The development of the website and the android
application are implemented using the most modern methods as well as with the use of free
software. Specifically for the website were used HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, PHP 7,
